Spain beat Italy in the penalty shoot out, and go on to meet Russia, who knocked out Holland in their quarter final. Guus Hiddinck's side have bounced back after losing their opening group game to Spain a couple of weeks ago, and will be a different prospect this time around. (22.06.08)

Spain were grouped for the finals together with Sweden, who they had already met in the qualifying round. And the other two group D members are also old acquaintances, Russia and Greece both being in their mini-league in the last European Championships four years ago.
