Spain drew 2-2 with Colombia in the latest friendly international, a late goal by Morata saving his team’s unbeaten record under coach Julen Lopetegui. With several players still not available, and a World Cup qualifier in Macedonia on Sunday, the coach made several changes to his first choice line-up, Illarramendi in particular making his first appearance for the senior side. Even so they got off to the better start, David Silva testing Ospina before getting on the end of Pedro’s cross to force a shot past the Arsenal keeper midway through the first half. James went close at the other end though soon afterwards, and with five minutes to go to the break Cardona got ahead of Reina to loop a shot towards goal, Piqué unable to stop the ball from entering the net. Some ten minutes in to the second half the South Americans took the lead, Falcao heading a James corner past Reina. However with three minutes to go Morata connected with Saúl’s cross on a quick breakaway to head home the equalizer, and Reina prevented Moreno from getting the winner with the game in time added on.
