0-3. 91. Xabi Alonso. Got ahead of marker to turn in Capel cross on far post.

Del Bosque put out a line up similar to the one used by Luis Aragonés in the Euro 2008 final, missing only the injured Marchena and Fábregas. The locals weren't intimidated though, Casillas in action early on to keep out Jensen and Bendtner hitting the side netting a few minutes later. And Spain didn't really trouble Sorensen until close to half time when the keeper did well to save a first time volley from Xavi.

The goals did start to flow however after the break, Xabi Alonso combining with his Liverpool team mate Fernando Torres to open the scoring only five minutes after the restart. And Xavi made it two a few minutes later after picking up a cross from debutant Diego Capel, who had come on at half time for Silva. The Sevilla winger set up Xabi Alonso for his second of the night near the end, and there was still time for Cazorla to hit the post before the final whistle.

A promising start for the new coach, and a good run out before the World Cup qualifiers begin at the start of next month. Nobody was celebrating though, and all thoughts were for the victims and their families in Madrid.
