Spain played out a fairly
meaningless 0-0 draw in a friendly match in Finland on Wednesday night. Coming
just a few days after the Euro 2008 success in Denmark, Luis Aragonés
used the occasion to give a run out to the rest of his squad. But although his
side were on top for much of the first half, the best they could manage were a
couple of half-efforts from Espanyol's Luis García. Local keeper Niemi
made a couple of good saves from Pernía and Luis García after the
restart, and Riera fired a shot against the foot of the post later on. The last
chances fell to Roy Hodgson's team though, with Kallio heading wide following a
corner and Johansson failing to find the target. |
