Geneva. An injury time goal from Fernando Torres gave Spain a 1-2 win over Croatia in their last warm up game before the World Cup begins. Luis Aragonés gave a run out to some of the players who did not feature in the first two matches, and Joaquín should have opened the scoring when he headed wide in the first minute. But disaster struck with just under a quarter of an hour on the clock, Pablo heading Krajcar's cross back over the head of Reina when trying to clear, giving the East Europeans the lead.

David Villa came close to equalising when he hit the post a couple of minutes later, but Reina had to keep out a long shot from Klasnic soon afterwards. Reyes curled a shot just wide of the far post, and Klasnic had a goal ruled out for a borderline offside as play swung from end to end.

There were the usual round of changes at the break, Luis García coming on to volley Xabi Alonso's cross wide within seconds, and Cañizares making a first class save from a Kranjcar header ten minutes after the restart. But Spain won a free kick just outside of the area on the hour mark, and debutant Mariano Pernía fired home the equaliser with a shot which took a deflection off the heel of Tudor.

Torres had a chance to put his side in front when Sergio Ramos was pulled down in the area, but Pletikosa saved his penalty kick and then blocked Luis García's follow up. Cañizares saved again from Bosnjak, and Luis García hit the side netting with a shot from right of goal. However with a draw on the cards, Torres made up for his earlier mistake, picking up a pass from Sergio Ramos before leaving two defenders for dead and shooting inside the near post. Aragonés had made it 22 without defeat, and now it's on to face the Ukraine.
